Lider Academy provides opportunity for members to earn 3-college credit hours at OLLU
On Friday, September 8, the West San Antonio Chamber of Commerce, in conjunction with Our Lady of the Lake University will be officially announced and opened the registration for the Lider Academy – the Chamber’s new leadership program.
The initial class will be limited to 20 participants that will go through a leadership, business, community based curriculum headed by Dr. Esther Gergen, the Chair of the Leadership Studies department at Our Lady of the Lake University and a member of the Board of Directors for the West Chamber.
This leadership program is different from most in San Antonio in that those that successfully complete the program will also earn 3-credit hours towards either a Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree or PHD at OLLU. The three hours will serve as elective hours towards the Organizational Leadership program exclusively at OLLU.
West Chamber President Farias is thrilled about the program and the sponsorship, “this is truly a special partnership between the West Chamber and Our Lady of the Lake University. We are excited about working with those in the program on developing their business and community leadership skills all while helping them earn three college credit hours in the process. This is the only Chamber of Commerce Leadership program that offers this opportunity and we are tremendously thrilled that Dr. Melby and the great folks at OLLU are on board as our partners in the Lider Academy.”
